Very moving to see you pay homage to so many of the ground-breaking artists that we have lost too soon. I think of them often, especially as I confront my aging self at 57. I tell anyone who will listen to me to listen to their body and be proactive in their decisions. The loss of Brian Wilson is heavy on me, partly because of my good fortune to have seen him many times and to have met him once. Also, in part, because I assert the Beach Boys are the greatest American rock band of all time. Today we lost Ozzy too. This is why I treasure artists such as yourself and Steve K. as much as I do. You two may very well be smart enough to live very long lives, but that doesn't apply to everyone. So, before this year is out, I will have seen Empire of the Sun (May), Jon Anderson (July), Toto/Christopher Cross (August), The Who (August), Al Jardine (September), YES (October), Alan Parsons (October), Billie Eilish (October), Foreigner/Lou Gramm (December), and a boatload of tribute bands. πΌπΈπ«Άπ

Thinking of Pete Steele of Type O negative who went early too. Listening to Dead Again with Rasputin on the cover. I like it.
Think of all those dead kids in Gaza they did not have a chance to even start a life.
Plus any innocents killed in oct 7. Plus all the the African Christians who are regularly decapitated by Boko Haram and other jihadist groups.
It reminds mean of the old Christian mystics who would contemplate a skull as an exercise of humility/mortality
Hail and farewell to Britain is a good song, drop tuning can sound so heavy.
Ageing everyones doing it.
