Artwork deadline day for the mystery project, day before Thanksgiving in America, which is massive over there and 'crickets' over here. There are many Europeans that have never heard of it. I suppose it’s like Vegemite, I’d never heard of it till I went to Australia. Every country has something special to offer and dangers to be aware of, I’m not sure what’s worse in Australia sharks or Vegemite, haha, I think you have to grow up with it to love it but, jumping from one topic to another, isn’t it strange that people’s tastes in food are different? I wonder if cavemen and cavwomen turned their prehistoric noses up at certain caught prey. “I’m sorry dear, but that sabre-tooth tiger meat just doesn’t agree with me”.
I was waiting for the artwork files to come through and didn’t want to go out in case I missed them. I don’t use my phone for internet messages and have one of the first steam powered smart phones which sessioneer Matt in NYC gave me, as my previous phone that was charged by well paid hamsters on wheels, and was no longer able to survive in the modern world - and by the way equal rights for hamsters, and don’t be a guinea pig in Peru, you are dinner not a pet.
I’m not a foodie, although I do have a sweet tooth and am missing teeth because of it. Most people know me as a bloke that plays the guitar and hates tomatoes, not necessarily in that order. I was feeling for the turkeys and then thought (more tangents), why is Turkey called Turkey? So I looked it up. So it’s Türkiye in Turkish, similar to English and here’s something you likely didn’t know, there is a connection between Turkey and turkeys. This from Wikipedia: “The bird called turkey was named as such due to trade of guineafowl from Turkey to England”. There’s some dinner conversation for you - over your turkey.
Artwork approved, great work from Mike Norton in Chicago and the next stage is telling the world about it, but not yet. In the meantime a sesh tonight with Space Summit Jed in Minneapolis and working on our 34th album as we try to figure out how to finish and release our 2nd. I rehearsed some songs for the live stream, songs I haven’t played before, songs I don’t really know, played on a guitar that I don’t usually use, sounds like a plan.
I watched Liverpool/Real Madrid over dinner, a missed penalty each for Mbappé and Salah but a 2-0 win for Liverpool anyway. Let’s hope they keep their form up and Man City keep their form down for Sunday, it’s always one of the games of the season whatever state you're in.
Music today has been Vox Dei - La Biblia (1971). They were one of the great Argentinian rock bands whose bass player and singer and lyricist Willy Quiroga has just died. La Biblia was the first Argentinian concept album. When I went to Argentina, I did my best to research Argentinian rock bands, bands we never heard about in Europe. Come to the In Deep Music Archive and dig them out.
